We collect personal information when you inquire about our projects, when you fill out surveys and when you participate in promotions or other programs that we may hold from time to time. Personal information that we collect may include your name and address, and general information. We may also collect certain demographic information, including age, occupation, family status and gender. We are also collecting personal stories and/or video that you have submitted. We respect the right of submitters to hold values, beliefs, attitudes and opinons that differ from our own and honour cultural, individual, and role differences, including those based on age, race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, language and socio-economic status.

The Company will use information supplied by you to fulfill your requests for information about our projects, products and services, and as otherwise reasonably required to provide information, services and products to you. We may also use your personal information to contact you regarding projects being undertaken by the Company from time to time, and for general administrative matters. Stories and or videos submitted will be read, seen and shared over social media as well as on-line, print and radio. Stories chosen by the authors will be published in a hard copy book form as well as on-line.

The Company automatically receives and records certain electronic information from server logs, including your computer’s IP address and domain name, the date of your visit to this website and “cookie” information. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer. The only information a cookie can collect is information supplied by you. A cookie cannot read data off of your computer. RETENTION

The Company endeavours to keep personal information only as long as it is required for the reasons it was collected. When your personal information is no longer required for our purposes, we will employ procedures to destroy, delete, erase or convert it to an anonymous form. This will be a year after the date the hard copy book is published.

The Company limits access to personal information to individuals who we reasonably believe need to access the information for the purposes described in this privacy policy, and we take precautions to prevent any loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure or modification of personal information.

UPDATING INFORMATION

Our privacy obligations are governed by Canadian privacy laws. If you wish to be removed from our mailing or e-mail distribution list, please contact us with your request and, subject to any legal or contractual restrictions, we will note your preferences. Please allow up to 30 days for us to update our records.
